The Business

A growing organisation is seeking an experienced Order to Cash (O2C) Team Lead to oversee a high-performing Accounts Receivable and O2C function within a shared services environment. Based in Manchester, this is an excellent opportunity for an experience finance professional looking to combine operational responsibility with people leadership.
 

The Role

You'll be responsible for driving cash collection performance, leading a small team, improving processes and building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a team across Credit Control, Cash Allocation and Master Data functions.
  • Conduct regular 1-2-1s, performance reviews and development discussions.
  • Provide hands-on support to the team during periods of absence and peak workloads.
  • Drive cash collection performance and ensure aged debt and DSO targets are achieved.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex disputes, payment issues and high-risk accounts.
  • Manage legal recovery activities, including debt collection agencies and insolvency cases.
  • Oversee the accurate allocation of customer receipts and maintenance of master data controls.
  • Produce weekly and monthly performance reports, providing meaningful analysis and recommendations.
  • Present key performance trends, risks and opportunities to senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and ensure audit readiness.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities and efficiencies.
  • Support wider finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Person

  • Proven leadership experience within Order to Cash, Credit Control or Accounts Receivable.
  • Strong knowledge of collections, aged debt management and dispute resolution.
  • Experience managing escalated customer accounts and driving resolutions.
  • Previous responsibility for people management, coaching and performance development.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
