Training & Talent Development
We’re passionate about connecting great people to great opportunities. We want to equip our people with the right tools to enable this. We are dedicated to our people’s development, including providing over 100 hours of formal training and development from Directors, Managers and support functions in the first 6 months. This is supplemented by on-the-job coaching and development by a line Manager.
Your training and development opportunities include:
- Structured Corporate Induction Programme
- Intensive training programme delivered by our business leaders
- Shadowing trained Consultants and Managing Consultants in their daily activities building on business development, database management, and candidate representation skills
- Attending candidate interviews and client meetings
- Participating in business development, researching, and building relationships with clients
- ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions
- Ongoing development plans designed with your line Manager to achieve your career aspirations
Leaders receive ongoing development too. Our Manager Development Programme includes Managers from across Europe participating in formal training initiatives. There is plenty of applied training and improved ways of working to implement during the intervening time. We believe we have some of the best Managers in our industry and we are passionate about developing more from our existing staff.
Our Sabbatical Scheme
Every year, colleagues across our business qualify for four weeks' paid sabbatical. People qualify each time they complete 5, 10, 15, 20, etc. years of service at Nigel Wright. Our sabbatical scheme aims to give our employees a special thank you for being an integral part of our team and for all their hard work.
After introducing the scheme we found that having 4 weeks off work wasn’t always convenient for some of our colleagues and their families. So, we responded by providing the option for anyone qualifying to receive a £2,000 reward to use towards a holiday instead.
We hope all our qualifying colleagues thoroughly enjoy their well-deserved holidays. Here are photos from some of them.
Career progression
We are a growing business with a blue-chip recruitment brand, so we need people to grow with us within their roles, and to progress into more senior positions. Our culture is geared towards rewarding success. Promotional prospects are genuine and based purely on merit.
We want all our Consultants to drive their careers forward and achieve their personal goals.
There are many levels of opportunity, whether Consultants want to build their career managing teams, having P&L responsibilities, or focusing on delivering assignments themselves without managing people.
