The role

As Mechanical Engineer, you'll provide hands-on engineering support across a complex production environment, working closely with operations and maintenance teams to keep plant assets operating safely, efficiently and compliantly. This is a newly created position driven by increased project activity, plant improvements and long-term business growth.

What You'll Be Doing

•   Supporting asset integrity and lifecycle management activities.
•   Specifying and delivering plant repairs, modifications and equipment replacements. Providing higher level technical expertise to support a highly capable site based maintenance team.
•   Contributing to complex asset repairs and mechanical integrity programmes.
•   Supporting shutdown planning and execution activities.
•   Driving reliability improvements across plant assets.
•   Managing inspection and statutory compliance requirements.
•   Collaborating with inspection bodies, insurers and specialist engineering partners, alongside operations, maintenance, safety and the wider engineering team.
•   Providing practical engineering solutions that support safe and efficient operations.

What we’re looking for

•   Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer or equivalent practical experience.
•   Strong plant-based engineering background within a process, heavy manufacturing or industrial environment.
•   Understanding of mechanical integrity and relevant regulatory requirements.
•   A pragmatic problem-solver who enjoys being on site and working closely with operational teams.
•   Someone who can balance engineering discipline with the realities of a fast-paced customer focussed production environment.
