Interim Financial Controller

The Opportunity

We're working on behalf of a highly successful and ambitious organisation seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to play a pivotal role within its finance leadership team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll act as a trusted deputy, leading financial control, management accounting and business partnering activities while supporting key operational and commercial decision-making.

About the role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading financial reporting and management accounting activities
• Driving budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
• Providing commercial analysis and performance insight
• Supporting working capital, cash flow and financial controls
• Managing and developing a small finance team
• Partnering with operational and senior stakeholders across the business
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting effectiveness

The Person

This position offers considerable breadth. Alongside maintaining a strong control environment, you will work closely with operational and commercial stakeholders, turning financial information into clear recommendations and supporting informed decision-making.

You will be a qualified accountant, ideally ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with substantial experience across management accounting and financial control. Advanced Excel skills, strong commercial judgement and the ability to communicate confidently with non-finance stakeholders are essential.

Experience of multi-entity reporting, rebates, stock will also be advantageous.
