Interim Finance Director

The Opportunity

Leeds | Hybrid | Circa 12-month assignment | Full-time preferred, four days considered

This is an opportunity to lead a business-critical finance transformation while ensuring operational continuity through a period of significant change.

Joining as Interim Finance Director, you will establish a robust finance function, strengthen control and reporting, and help shape the organisation’s future operating model. The assignment combines strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, offering considerable autonomy and visible impact within a small, collaborative business.

The Role

Working closely with senior leadership and external stakeholders, you will:

• Protect day-to-day financial control throughout a complex transition programme
• Lead or coordinate the migration from Oracle to Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Establish effective reporting, controls and supporting finance processes
• Maintain oversight of cash, working capital, margins and business-critical KPIs
• Strengthen capital-expenditure governance and investment appraisal
• Support completion accounts, working-capital adjustments and related transaction requirements
• Shape a scalable finance operating model using the right balance of internal and outsourced capability
• Coordinate interdependent systems, finance and corporate workstreams
• Support the appointment and onboarding of a permanent finance leader
• Deliver a structured handover that leaves the business stable and well positioned

About You

You will be a qualified accountant with a strong record of delivering finance transformation, change or complex project assignments.

You are likely to bring:

• Demonstrable ERP migration or finance systems implementation experience
• Experience of a carve-out, separation, acquisition, transitional arrangement or comparable change programme
• Strong cash, working-capital, reporting and financial-control expertise
• The ability to manage strategic priorities without losing sight of operational detail
• A practical, collaborative and low-ego leadership style
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders while remaining hands-on in a close-knit environment
