Financial Accountant (French Speaking)

Nigel Wright are delighted to be working with an instantly recognisable international business in their search for a French speaking Financial Accountant.

Based out of either the London, Manchester or Reading offices the successful candidate will be responsible for all reporting aspects of a France based subsidiary and will provide wider support to entities based in Spain, Holland, Ireland and America. Reporting directly to the Head of International Finance, this is a varied role offering exposure to financial accounting, international reporting and business partnering across multiple territories.
 

The Opportunity

As Financial Accountant, you will take ownership of the day-to-day accounting for the France based entity, ensuring accurate month-end reporting, maintaining a strong financial control environment and supporting ongoing finance systems and ERP consolidation projects. You'll work closely with Group Finance, Commercial Finance, the Reporting Hub and international stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial reporting and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process for the France based entity, including journals, general ledger management and financial reporting.
• Manage accounting within the local finance system and upload results into the group finance system.  
• Support finance systems integration, system mapping and consolidation activities.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring robust controls and compliance.
• Support IFRS reporting requirements and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
• Partner with executive stakeholders and shareholders to deliver regular financial and trading information.
• Partner with finance and operational teams across multiple international locations.
• Support internal and external audit activity.
• Drive process improvements and identify opportunities to enhance financial efficiency.

Candidates wishing to apply for the role will be:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Fluent French speaker with strong written and verbal communication skills.  
• Strong financial accounting and month-end expertise.
• Experience of working with multiple finance systems
• Highly developed Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
• Knowledge of IFRS and financial controls.
• Able to build effective relationships with stakeholders across international locations.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and driven by continuous improvement.
