Credit Control Manager

The Business

Nigel Wright are delighted to be supporting a growing FMCG business based in Trafford Park in their search for a Credit Control Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced credit professional to take ownership of the credit function, lead a growing team, and play a key role in managing cash flow within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
 

The Role

You will be responsible for leading the credit control team and ensuring effective management of the sales ledger and debt recovery process.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing, mentoring and developing a team of Credit Controllers.
  • Driving cash collection activity and reducing aged debt across a large customer base.
  • Monitoring customer accounts, credit limits and exposure to minimise risk.
  • Developing and implementing credit control procedures and best practices.
  • Building strong relationships with key customers, ensuring prompt resolution of payment queries.
  • Producing aged debt, cash collection and KPI reports for senior management.
  • Working closely with Sales, Customer Service and Finance teams to resolve disputes efficiently.
  • Managing escalated and complex customer accounts.
  • Supporting cash flow forecasting and month-end reporting activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase team performance.

Person

  • Previous experience in a Credit Control Manager, Credit Manager or Senior Credit Control role.
  • Experience working within a high-volume transactional environment.
  • Proven success in improving collections performance and reducing overdue debt.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with good Excel and finance systems knowledge.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced business.
