About the Company
Our client is a rapidly growing international infrastructure investment and operating business with a significant presence across Europe and other international markets. The company owns and manages a large portfolio of strategic assets and is continuing its ambitious expansion through acquisitions and organic growth.
As part of this growth journey, the organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Legal – DACH to join its Munich-based team. This role acts as a key legal advisor to the German business while working closely with the wider international leadership team and Group Legal function.
The environment is entrepreneurial, fast-paced and highly commercial, offering extensive exposure to strategic transactions and senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will combine strong legal expertise with commercial acumen and the ability to provide practical, business-oriented solutions in a dynamic growth environment.
The role will play a leading part in M&A activity across the DACH region and will be a key member of transaction teams involved in acquisitions, investments and strategic projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Group General Counsel, external advisors and internal commercial and finance teams on strategic M&A transactions.
- Lead and oversee legal due diligence processes relating to acquisitions and investments.
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad spectrum of commercial agreements, including transaction documentation, framework agreements, supply contracts and other business-critical arrangements.
- Support acquisition and development projects through the preparation, review and management of real estate-related agreements and documentation.
- Ensure appropriate governance and approval processes are implemented throughout corporate transactions.
- Drive corporate compliance initiatives and strengthen governance frameworks across the business.
- Provide legal support in relation to financing arrangements and corporate obligations.
- Assess legal and commercial risks associated with business activities and provide practical recommendations to mitigate exposure.
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise on their impact on business operations.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and key stakeholders across the organisation.
Experience & Skills Required
- Qualified lawyer with a strong academic background and relevant legal qualifications.
- Approximately 6–8+ years of post-qualification experience gained within a leading law firm and/or an international corporate environment.
- Strong M&A and transactional experience, ideally gained within asset-intensive or infrastructure-related industries.
- Experience with real estate transactions, corporate acquisitions and complex commercial contracts.
- Excellent commercial judgement and business acumen.
- Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and personal credibility.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
