The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a high-growth, purpose-led organisation at a pivotal stage in its journey. Operating at the forefront of tackling child poverty, this Yorkshire-based charity has scaled rapidly over the past four years, delivering real, measurable impact across the region and supporting tens of thousands of children. With strong partnerships already in place and a major new national initiative launching, the organisation is entering its next phase of growth.
As a result, they are now looking to appoint a Head of Fundraising to establish and drive a strategic fundraising function.
This is a unique and high-impact role offering the chance to shape the future of trusts and foundations fundraising within a fast-moving organisation.
You will take ownership of developing and delivering a strategy focused on larger, more complex funding streams, working with major national and regional funders while supporting the organisation’s continued expansion.
The role offers significant scope for growth, with the opportunity to build out a function and team over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the trusts & foundations fundraising strategy
- Identify, prioritise and secure high-value funding opportunities (£100k+)
- Build and manage relationships with major funders and stakeholders
- Write and oversee compelling, strategic funding applications
- Deliver high-quality impact reporting to support funding success
- Help reposition the organisation as it scales, aligning messaging to larger funding opportunities
- Collaborate across teams to ensure strong, evidence-led submissions
- Support ad hoc, high-profile funding opportunities as they arise
About You
- Proven experience within the charity sector, specifically in trusts & foundations fundraising
- Strong track record of securing significant grants (£100k+)
- Experience working with major funders at a regional or national level
- Strategic mindset with the ability to build and evolve a function
- Excellent written skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Resilient, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
- Passionate about making a meaningful impact
