The role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Specification Technologist to join a fast-paced and collaborative technical team. You will play a key role in ensuring product information is accurate, compliant, and delivered to customers efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the collection of data required to create new product specifications
  • Developing and maintaining detailed product specifications in line with customer, regulatory, and quality standards
  • Uploading and managing specification data across multiple customer systems and portals
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers to resolve technical queries and support risk assessments
  • Ensuring product information meets all legal and safety requirements prior to approval
  • Managing and maintaining site documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Completing customer documentation, including SAQs and allergen risk assessments
  • Reviewing and approving packaging artwork
  • Supporting product launches with technical documentation and insight
  • Preparing certification documentation (e.g. allergen, ethical or product-specific schemes)

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be organised, detail-focused, and eager to build a career within food manufacturing. You will enjoy working in a fast-moving environment and be confident managing multiple priorities.

Key requirements include:

  • A background in food science or a technical/quality discipline within food manufacturing
  • Experience with product specifications is advantageous, though full training will be provided
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • A structured, logical approach to problem-solving
  • Knowledge of GMP principles, food safety standards, and allergens
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • A proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop

This role would suit someone motivated, enthusiastic, and keen to grow within a supportive and progressive environment. It is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to secure their first role in the food industry. This role is Monday to Friday with no shift work.
