The Role
You will take ownership of day-to-day onsite manufacturing operations while playing a central role in shaping the site's future direction. Initially focused on production, engineering, health & safety, performance, and people leadership, the remit may expand over time into broader site accountability.
Key objectives include:
- Creating a high-performance operational culture.
- Driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people performance.
- Implementing disciplined operational management routines and performance accountability.
- Leading the evolution from reactive to proactive maintenance and engineering excellence.
- Embedding lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving approaches.
- Supporting automation initiatives, capital investment projects, and future site expansion plans.
- Developing leadership capability, succession planning, and organisational effectiveness across the operation.
This is a highly visible leadership, entrepreneurial attitude, this role will require someone equally comfortable on the shop floor and in strategic discussions. Approximately 75% of the role will involve hands-on operational leadership, with 25% focused on longer-term strategic improvement and growth initiatives.
The Skills
- Senior manufacturing leadership experience, ideally 5 years+
- A background within a regulated production environment.
- A track record of operational improvement, transformation, or scaling businesses.
- Strong lean manufacturing and continuous improvement expertise.
- Experience leading multi-functional teams, 50+
- A hands-on leadership style with the credibility to influence at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving, coaching, and performance management skills.
