The Role
As Shift Manager, you will take full responsibility for leading a production shift, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee a team of Line Leaders and Operatives, driving performance across a broad range of operational, safety and people-focused KPIs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing strong leadership on health, safety and food safety.
- Driving production performance and achievement of operational plans.
- Ensuring compliance with customer, technical and quality requirements.
- Leading workforce planning, recruitment, training and development activities.
- Conducting gap analysis and implementing development plans to upskill teams.
- Monitoring key metrics including safety, quality, training compliance, labour availability and service performance.
- Identifying and implementing improvements in processes, equipment, training and documentation.
- Managing, motivating and developing a team to achieve operational excellence.
The Candidate
We are looking for a proven leader from a food manufacturing environment who is passionate about building high-performing teams and driving operational success.
You will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a Shift Manager or similar leadership position within food, chemical, pharma or packaging manufacturing.
- Strong people management skills with a track record of coaching, developing and engaging teams.
- Excellent communication and decision-making abilities.
- Experience of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
- Effective planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, allergen management and hazard analysis.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- A proactive approach with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This is a permanent night shift position working 6pm to 6am on a Panama shift pattern.
