Senior Finance Business Partner

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join a well-established organisation within the ports, logistics and infrastructure sector, based in Scunthorpe.

This is a high-impact, commercially focused role where you’ll partner with operational leaders to drive performance, influence decision-making and play a key role in shaping future strategy across a complex, asset-heavy business.

Your Duties/Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior operational stakeholders to drive financial performance and improve commercial outcomes
  • Provide insightful financial analysis, reporting and challenge to support strategic decision-making
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes for key business areas
  • Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders
  • Monitor KPIs, identifying risks and opportunities to optimise performance
  • Support business cases, investment appraisals and capital expenditure decisions
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and reporting
  • Act as a trusted advisor, influencing and challenging stakeholders where appropriate
  • Collaborate with wider finance teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial information

You Will Be/Have:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a business partnering role, ideally within a complex, operational or asset-heavy environment (e.g. logistics, manufacturing, infrastructure, ports)
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Confident communicator who can simplify complex financial information
  • Analytical mindset with advanced Excel and strong data interpretation skills
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
  • Able to operate both strategically and hands-on when required
  • Proactive, resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
