The company designs and manufactures highly specialised engineered products used within hazardous, safety-critical and highly regulated environments where reliability, precision and performance are paramount. Working with customers across global markets, they are recognised for solving complex engineering challenges and developing tailored technical solutions.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join their team and play a key role in the next stage of their technical development.
The opportunity
This is far more than a traditional design engineering role.
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will work across the full product lifecycle, combining mechanical design, product development, testing, validation and direct customer engagement. You will be responsible for developing bespoke engineering solutions, supporting manufacturing activities and helping customers overcome complex technical challenges.
The position offers genuine long-term career development, with the opportunity to progress into a Technical Leadership and Director-level role as your responsibilities and experience grow.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing bespoke mechanical solutions for customer applications
- Supporting product development, testing, validation and calibration activities
- Interpreting technical and performance data
- Working directly with customers to develop innovative engineering solutions
- Supporting manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Managing design modifications and engineering development projects
- Representing the business at technical meetings, demonstrations and industry events
- Contributing to product strategy and future technical direction
About you
We're keen to speak with ambitious engineers who combine strong technical expertise with a customer-focused and commercially aware approach.
You will likely have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong mechanical design and product development experience
- Experience supporting engineered products through manufacture
- A good understanding of testing, validation and technical analysis
- Experience working directly with customers on technical solutions
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- A hands-on and proactive approach to engineering challenges
- The ambition to develop into a future technical leadership position
