Senior Data Engineer (2 year FTC)

The Company

Nigel Wright Tech are pleased to be working with a North East social housing provider in their search for a Senior Data Engineer on an initial 2 year FTC. 

The Role

Working closely with the Data Architect, you will be expected to lead the design, build and maintenance of the organisations data infrastructure ensuring their data is of the highest quality. Key responsibilities include: 

• Lead the development and maintain data models, schemas and structures that optimise data storage 
• Build and link datasets so that Data Scientists and Analysts can easily derive insights, extracting and loading into the data storage environment (warehouse, lakehouse) or platform (Fabric) 
• Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality 
• Lead in identifying automation solutions of manual data flows and reporting processes
• Engage and collaborate with business teams to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical solutions 

The Requirements

This is a genuinely unique role whereby you will get the chance to shape a transformative Fabric journey and have exposure to both strategic platform engineering and complex business critical migration work. Key requirements include: 

• Experience delivering data products and services such as data modelling, data schemas, warehouses and or data lakes. 
• Comfortable using data visualisation tools e.g. Power BI, DAX, Synapse, Fabric 
• Stakeholder engagement experience 
• Understanding of Data Governance practises 
• Data Migration knowledge is desirable
