The Opportunity:

School Business Manager

  • Temporary | 37 hours per week
  • Term Time + 10 Days
Are you an organised, proactive and people-focused professional with experience across business operations, administration, HR or school support services?

My client is seeking a dedicated School Business Manager to lead the operational functions of our successful and inclusive primary school. Working closely with the Headteacher, leadership team and wider Trust colleagues, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and effective running of the school, helping create the best possible environment for pupils, staff and families.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding leadership position with responsibility for key business functions including:

  • Leading and developing school administration systems and processes
  • Managing and supporting the administrative team
  • Overseeing HR administration, recruitment and payroll processes
  • Supporting compliance with GDPR, safeguarding and statutory requirements
  • Coordinating Health & Safety, premises administration and service contracts
  • Producing reports, returns and workforce data
  • Supporting school events, projects and operational planning
  • Working collaboratively across the Trust to improve services and efficiencies

What We're Looking For

We would love to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Experience within administration, business management, HR or operational leadership
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience managing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong ICT skills, including Microsoft Office and management systems
  • The ability to work with confidential and sensitive information
  • A positive, resilient and solutions-focused approach
Previous experience within a school environment, knowledge of SIMS, budget monitoring or School Business Management qualifications would be advantageous.
