Regional Sales Manager - Agriculture (North)

North West | Remote  Permanent  Highly Competitive Ref: 419714

The Company

A confidential, established organisation serving the agricultural market is appointing a Regional Sales Manager - Agriculture (North) to lead its northern commercial agenda. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a substantial field-based region, strengthen an experienced sales team and create the structure, pace and accountability required for the next phase of growth.

The mandate goes beyond maintaining existing business. The successful candidate will shape the regional plan, improve sales execution, develop new opportunities and build influential relationships across the agricultural community. They will combine visible leadership with personal commercial credibility, supporting key customer conversations while enabling the team to perform at a higher level.

The Role

You will inherit a credible team and platform with meaningful headroom for growth, the backing to strengthen the team and the autonomy to influence how the region develops.  Covering the North of England and all northern locations will be considered.

This opportunity will suit an accomplished agricultural sales leader, or a high-performing senior commercial professional ready to step into a broader regional leadership remit.

The role offers scope to make a visible commercial impact, shape future capability and broaden your leadership contribution as the regional structure evolves. Own and deliver the regional commercial plan, translating strategic ambition into clear priorities for sales, margin, customers and people.

  • Lead, coach and develop a geographically dispersed field sales team, establishing high standards, clear accountability and a consistent management rhythm.
  • Accelerate new-business activity while protecting and expanding strategically important customer relationships.
  • Improve territory planning, customer segmentation, pipeline quality, forecasting and the disciplined use of commercial information.
  • Build relationships with leading agricultural businesses, industry partners, influencers and prospective team members.
  • Recruit, onboard and retain high-calibre commercial talent as the region develops.
  • Work across technical, operational, customer service and marketing functions to ensure commercial commitments are delivered effectively.
  • Lead pricing, campaigns and growth initiatives with a firm focus on sustainable volume, margin and contribution.

The Skills

The strongest candidates will offer:

  • Professional degree or University; preferably in agricultural and/or technical education.
  • A strong record of commercial success in agricultural sales, agricultural inputs, livestock services, farm technology or a closely related market.
  • Evidence of leading, coaching or materially influencing field-based salespeople.
  • Credibility with agricultural customers and the ability to move discussions beyond price towards performance, value and long-term partnership.
  • Confidence managing volume, margin, pricing, pipeline and contribution, with sound judgement around commercial trade-offs.
  • The presence to set standards, lead change and address performance issues constructively.
  • A self-directed, resilient leadership style and the willingness to travel regularly across a broad northern territory.
  • An established agricultural network and experience of developing new territories or customer portfolios would be advantageous.
