Quality Engineer
Our client
Our client is a highly successful manufacturer based in Teesside, supplying specialist engineered products to a global customer base. Operating within a technically advanced manufacturing environment, the business has built a strong reputation for quality, innovation and operational excellence. With continued investment in manufacturing capability, process improvement and future growth, they are now looking to strengthen their quality function with the appointment of a Quality Engineer.
The opportunity
Reporting directly to senior leadership, this is a hands-on Quality Engineer position focused on driving operational quality improvement across the manufacturing operation. Rather than concentrating on compliance administration, you will play a key role in identifying improvement opportunities, resolving quality issues and supporting continuous improvement activities across the site.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading quality improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
- Driving root cause analysis and corrective action activities
- Supporting Lean, Kaizen, 5S and continuous improvement programmes
- Analysing quality and operational data to identify trends and opportunities
- Working closely with production, engineering and technical teams
- Improving shop-floor quality standards, compliance and operational discipline
- Supporting KPI reporting and quality performance monitoring
- Providing mentoring and leadership to a small quality team
- Implementing practical solutions that improve efficiency and reduce non-conformance
- Mentor and develop a Quality Technician, providing coaching, technical guidance and ongoing support to help build capability within the quality team.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a visible impact within a growing manufacturing business where quality and operational excellence are central to future success.
About you
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on quality professional who enjoys solving problems, engaging with people and driving continuous improvement.
You will ideally have:
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment
- Previous experience as a Quality Engineer
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen and 5S methodologies
- Experience supporting shop-floor operations and engaging with operational teams

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative, pragmatic and positive approach to change and improvement
Applications are welcomed from experienced Quality Engineers looking for greater responsibility, as well as individuals ready to take the next step into a broader leadership-focused role.
If you are an ambitious Quality Engineer looking to join a successful Teesside manufacturer and play a key role in driving operational and quality improvements, we would be delighted to hear from you.
