Production Planner

The Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Planner will sit at the heart of the operation, coordinating activity across production, supply chain, engineering and project teams.

Key responsibilities include:

•    Creating and maintaining realistic, achievable production plans within a complex, low volume manufacturing environment
•    Aligning customer demand with capacity, materials availability and engineering constraints
•    Managing planning risk, identifying issues early and escalating appropriately
•    Ensuring accuracy and integrity of ERP / MRP data to support decision making
•    Supporting planning reviews and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
•    Working closely with stakeholders to challenge assumptions and improve outcomes

This is a newly created role with genuine scope to influence how planning operates as the business scales.
 

The Organisation

Nigel Wright are thrilled to be working with a UK manufacturer operating in a high value, low volume engineering environment with an ambitious growth programme. The Production Planner will play a central role in enabling this growth by strengthening planning discipline, visibility and cross functional coordination.
 

About You

You will bring hands on planning experience from an engineering or manufacturing environment, with the confidence to operate cross functionally and communicate clearly with both operational teams and leadership.

Essential experience:

•    Background in production, manufacturing or materials planning
•    Experience within an engineering led manufacturing environment
•    Strong capability in capacity planning and materials planning
•    Confident stakeholder management across multiple functions
•    Proactive approach to risk identification and escalation
•    Strong Excel capability
•    Experience using ERP / MRP systems
