Pricing and Commercial Insights Manager

 Newcastle upon Tyne  Permanent  £70,000 - £80,000 Ref: 420124

The Opportunity:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced pricing professional to join a progressive commercial finance function in Newcastle and influence high-value decisions across a complex, international organisation.

You will act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, helping them develop commercially sound pricing strategies, strengthen financial performance and make better-informed decisions. The position offers considerably more than pricing analysis: you will shape proposals, challenge commercial assumptions and improve how pricing is understood and applied across the organisation.

With significant stakeholder exposure and scope to contribute to wider improvement projects, this role will suit someone who combines technical pricing expertise with the confidence to influence decision-makers.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Advise senior stakeholders on pricing strategy and commercially viable pricing arrangements.
  • Build financial models to assess profitability, risk and the impact of proposed commercial terms.
  • Support complex proposals, bids and commercial negotiations.
  • Partner with relationship, commercial and business development teams to improve financial outcomes.
  • Develop budgets and monitor actual performance, particularly across complex projects.
  • Provide post-project analysis and recommend actions to improve future performance.
  • Contribute to the annual review of standard rates and broader pricing strategy.
  • Monitor relevant market trends and support the development of pricing models, tools and benchmarks.
  • Deliver training that strengthens commercial awareness and encourages consistent pricing practices.
  • Support cross-functional improvement initiatives involving process, people and technology.

You Will Be/Have:

  • At least four years’ relevant pricing experience.
  • Strong financial modelling, analytical and commercial skills.
  • Experience advising and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • The confidence to challenge assumptions and communicate a clear commercial perspective.
  • A strong understanding of profitability, pricing structures and commercial decision-making.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Experience delivering training or presenting complex information clearly.
  • Able to manage competing priorities while remaining composed and focused.
  • A collaborative and straightforward approach, with a commitment to sharing knowledge.
  • Experience gained within a complex professional, regulated or service-led environment would be advantageous.

Benefits:

  • Hybrid working, with two office-based days per week.
  • Competitive salary and discretionary bonus opportunity.
  • Generous annual leave with increases linked to service.
  • Pension, life assurance and income-protection benefits.
  • Private medical, dental and wellbeing options.
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies.
  • Professional development, learning and mobility opportunities.
  • Additional lifestyle, travel and employee discount benefits.
