The Company

An established and internationally backed manufacturing organisation is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join its finance team. Operating within a stable, long-standing business, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of payroll processes while supporting a key workforce within a fast-paced industrial environment.

This is a hands-on position where you will play a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and employee experience, while also managing employee benefits and contributing to continuous process improvement.

The Role

As the Payroll & Benefits Specialist you will take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of two monthly payrolls (factory and office-based employees), ensuring all processes are completed accurately and within deadline.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing full end-to-end payroll cycles for multiple employee groups
  • Processing overtime, bonuses, statutory payments, and pensions
  • Maintaining time & attendance data and system accuracy
  • Administering employee benefits (life assurance, private medical)
  • Ensuring HMRC compliance and supporting year-end processes
  • Handling payroll queries and supporting internal stakeholders

About You

We are looking for a detail-focused payroll professional who is confident managing processes independently within a busy environment.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing
  • Experience managing payroll for a medium-sized workforce
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and compliance
  • Experience working with payroll and time & attendance systems
  • Strong Excel and reconciliation skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Confident communication skills with both employees and stakeholders
  • Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
