Material Controller

The Role

Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, the Material Controller will be responsible for ensuring materials are available to support production schedules while maintaining optimal inventory levels and supplier performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing material requirements planning (MRP) activities
• Creating, maintaining and expediting purchase orders
• Monitoring supplier schedules, confirmations and deliveries
• Managing material shortages and supporting issue resolution
• Maintaining accurate ERP system data and planning parameters
• Supporting inventory optimisation and stock control initiatives
• Protecting manufacturing operations from material supply issues
• Producing KPI and performance reporting
• Working closely with production and supply chain teams to ensure continuity of supply

About You

The Material Controller will ideally have:

• Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment
• Strong ERP and MRP planning system experience
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
• Experience managing inventory levels and material availability
• The confidence to prioritise workload and work independently
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn
