Management Accountant

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a market-leading engineering and manufacturing business in North Yorkshire during a significant period of transformation, investment and growth. This is a highly visible Management Accountant role that combines core management accounting responsibilities with commercial analysis, operational business partnering and project-focused financial support.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts and supporting analysis
• Deliver meaningful variance analysis and performance reporting
• Support budgeting, forecasting and planning processes
• Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders across the business
• Analyse contract and project performance
• Provide financial insight to support decision-making and profitability
• Monitor costs, margins and operational performance indicators
• Challenge and support budget holders to improve financial outcomes
• Support month-end close activities and reporting deadlines
• Drive reporting improvements and strengthen internal controls
• Assist with year-end activities and audit requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operations

You Will Be/Have:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or nearing qualification
• Strong management accounting and analytical skills
• Advanced Excel capability
• Experience within manufacturing, engineering, construction or project-based environments would be advantageous
• Strong commercial awareness and a desire to understand operational performance
• Ability to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders
• Experience of budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis
• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• Confidence building relationships across all levels of the business
• A genuine interest in partnering with operational teams rather than purely producing reports
