Our client

Our client is a high volume manufacturer in the North East, operating a fast-paced, highly automated production environment. With continued investment in manufacturing capability and a strong growth trajectory, they are focused on building a high-performing, reliable maintenance function to support increasing production demands.

The opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Technician to join their established maintenance team supporting a complex manufacturing operation.
This is a hands-on, shift-based role focused on ensuring equipment uptime and supporting production efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to equipment breakdowns and restoring production quickly
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
  • Fault finding on automated machinery, robotics and PLC-controlled systems
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the plant
  • Working collaboratively with production teams to minimise downtime
  • Maintaining accurate records via CMMS systems
This role offers exposure to a wide range of technologies across both automated and high precision environments.

About you

  • Electrically biased, multi-skilled technician with experience in manufacturing maintenance
  • Strong fault finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment (diagnostics and interrogation)
  • Ideally exposure to automated or robotics-based production environments
  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC, NVQ Level 3/4 or equivalent)
  • Comfortable working a 12-hour continental shift pattern
  • Reliable, hands-on and team-focused approach
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to support evolving, more proactive maintenance practices
