Our client is a leading global high‑volume manufacturer based in County Durham. With a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, the business offers a stable manufacturing environment with long‑term career opportunities.

The opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join a highly skilled engineering function within a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across production equipment and site facilities, ensuring downtime is minimised and production targets are supported.

The role operates on a three‑shift weekly rotating pattern (earlies, lates, nights) and offers paid overtime, particularly to support equipment reliability and breakdown recovery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
  • Maintaining safety‑critical systems including E‑Stops and alarms
  • Supporting preventive maintenance programmes and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Ordering spare parts and liaising with external contractors as required
  • Ensuring all equipment is safe, compliant, and fit for production use
  • Contributing to continuous improvement, 5S standards, and a strong safety culture

About you

You will be a proactive and reliable Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician with experience in a manufacturing or process‑driven environment.

You will bring:

  • A minimum NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance or Engineering
  • Proven electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a high‑volume environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, can‑do attitude
  • A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
