Maintenance Engineer

The business is moving toward a proactive, data-driven maintenance strategy, creating a strong opportunity for engineering talent to play a key role in shaping the future of the function.
The opportunity
This is a newly created Maintenance Engineer role, designed to bridge the gap between reactive maintenance and engineering-led improvement.
You will play a key role in driving equipment reliability and performance, with a particular focus on identifying and eliminating repeat issues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading root cause analysis (RCA) to resolve recurring equipment failures
- Improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and uptime
- Using CMMS and operational data to identify trends and implement solutions
- Supporting the transition from reactive to proactive maintenance practices
- Working cross-functionally with production and engineering teams
About you
- Electrically biased, multi-skilled engineer from a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Strong experience in automation, robotics and PLC-controlled machinery
- Proven track record in root cause analysis and problem-solving
- Comfortable working with data to drive performance improvements and reliability
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and fault find effectively
- Ideally HND or degree qualified (or equivalent experience)
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a genuine interest in improving how things work
- Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally and challenge where needed
