Project Manager
The Opportunity
Leeds Beckett University is investing in the future of its Estates & Facilities function and is seeking an exceptional Project Manager to help shape the next phase of its transformation.
Following a significant review of the directorate and the appointment of new leadership, this is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering capital projects that will shape the future of the University estate. You will join at an exciting time as Leeds Beckett develops a new Estates Masterplan and continues to invest in facilities that support an outstanding experience for students, staff and visitors.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will deliver professional project management services across a range of capital projects and programmes, ensuring successful delivery in line with industry best practice and University procedures. You will work closely with colleagues across Estates, Finance, Sustainability, Space Planning and the wider University to ensure projects are delivered safely, effectively and in line with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage capital projects and programmes through all RIBA work stages.
- Develop and refine project briefs with key stakeholders.
- Support procurement activity and contractor appointment processes.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Manage project budgets, programmes, risks and governance requirements.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across the University.
- Monitor project quality, compliance and performance throughout delivery.
- Produce clear project reporting and management information.
- Lead project close-out activities, evaluations and lessons learned reviews.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and best practice across the Planning & Development team.
What We’re Looking For
We are interested in hearing from ambitious project professionals with experience delivering construction, estates, infrastructure or capital projects within complex environments.
Candidates may come from Higher Education, NHS, local government, commercial property, housing, infrastructure, construction consultancy or other multi-site organisations where stakeholder engagement and project delivery are critical.
You will bring:
- A degree in a relevant built environment, construction, engineering or architectural discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience delivering construction or capital projects through all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Knowledge of procurement routes, project governance and contract administration.
- Experience working with contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Commercial awareness and a value-for-money mindset.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to project delivery.
- The ability to identify solutions, manage challenges and drive projects to successful completion.
