Junior Management Accountant Role - Darlington- Study Support

Are you looking for a role that will give you genuine exposure across management accounting while supporting your professional development and long-term career progression?

Our client is seeking a Junior Management Accountant to join an established finance team in a business that is investing in both its people and finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who is eager to broaden their experience, gain exposure to month-end accounting processes and work closely with experienced finance professionals.

The Role

Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you will support the preparation of management accounts and play a key role in delivering accurate financial information across the business.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting month-end processes and ledger controls
  • Producing KPI reporting and financial analysis
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Supporting cashflow and working capital reporting
  • Assisting with year-end audit requirements
  • Providing ad hoc support across the wider finance team
  • Contributing to process improvement initiatives

The Person

Their keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • AAT Level 3 completed, AAT Level 4 studying, or a relevant Accounting & Finance degree
  • Previous finance experience gained within an Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Finance Assistant or similar role
  • Exposure to month-end activities such as accruals, prepayments, reconciliations or reporting
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical ability
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • A proactive attitude and genuine desire to develop a career in finance
