Indirect Procurement Specialist

A highly successful and rapidly growing engineering organisation is seeking an Indirect Procurement Specialist to play a key role in developing and transforming its indirect procurement focus.
Operating in a complex, manufacturing-led environment, the business is investing heavily in its procurement function and offers a unique greenfield opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to make a real impact.
This is a strategic, non-transactional role with significant autonomy, focused on delivering cost savings, improving supplier performance and driving long-term commercial value across a broad indirect spend portfolio.
The client will support hybrid working and will also consider candidates seeking a 4 day working week.
The Opportunity
The Indirect Procurement Specialist will take ownership of indirect procurement activity across a wide range of categories including operational services, facilities, leasing, consumables, PPE and wider business services.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans across indirect spend categories
- Analysing spend to identify cost reduction and efficiency opportunities
- Managing end-to-end sourcing activity including tendering, negotiation and contract award
- Identifying and delivering supplier consolidation opportunities
- Negotiating commercial terms, SLAs, pricing structures and value-added agreements
- Building and managing supplier performance frameworks
- Driving continuous improvement in procurement processes and governance
About You
The successful Indirect Procurement Specialist will be a commercially focused procurement professional with a strong background in indirect sourcing within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
You will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in indirect procurement, strategic sourcing or category management
- A track record of delivering measurable cost savings and supplier improvements
- Experience negotiating service-based contracts and commercial agreements
- Strong analytical capability with experience in spend analysis and reporting
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders across multiple functions
- A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to operate autonomously
- Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
