Yorkshire and the Humber  Contract  55,000-60,000 Ref: 417905

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, values-led UK business at a pivotal moment in its journey. With a new group strategy about to be launched and a clear focus on evolving its people approach, the business is moving towards a more strategic, commercially aligned HR model. We’re looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to support a busy manufacturing and supply operation of around 200 employees. Working closely with a new Director, you’ll play a key role in shaping the people agenda during a period of change bringing stability, confidence and a practical HR approach on the ground. If you enjoy being close to the business, influencing leaders and making a difference quickly, this role offers the perfect blend of challenge and opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

This is a hands-on, visible HR role where you’ll build strong relationships across operations and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with operational leaders to drive performance, engagement and accountability
  • Handling a broad range of complex employee relations matters with confidence
  • Managing relationships within a unionised environment in a pragmatic, solutions-focused way
  • Coaching and empowering line managers to take ownership of people management
  • Supporting the rollout of a new business strategy at site level
  • Contributing to wider HR transformation, bringing ideas and improvements to ways of working

Ideal candidate

You’re a confident, down-to-earth HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, operational setting and enjoys building relationships across the business.
You’ll bring:

  • Experience as an HR Business Partner or a strong Senior HR Advisor ready to step up
  • Solid, hands-on employee relations expertise
  • Experience within manufacturing, supply chain or operational environments
  • Ideally, exposure to unionised settings
  • A pragmatic, commercially focused mindset
  • The ability to influence, challenge and build credibility quickly

Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role where you can genuinely make an impact from day one. You’ll be partnering with a new senior leader, helping shape a people agenda during a period of positive change, and working in an environment where your input will be valued. The role offers the chance to be part of a broader transformation journey while still staying close to the operational heartbeat of the business, ideal for someone who enjoys variety, pace and seeing the tangible results of their work, with potential longer-term opportunities as the organisation continues to evolve.
