HR Advisor

Cumbria  Temporary  Flexible depending on experience Ref: 420197

The Opportunity

HR Advisor – Interim Opportunity

  • Location: Cumbria – flexibility to be based anywhere across the county
  • Contract: Interim, initially 6 months+
  • Salary: £30,000 – £40,000+ depending on experience
  • Working pattern: Hybrid / multi-site

Are you an HR professional looking for your next opportunity within a varied, people-focused environment?

We’re recruiting an HR Advisor to support a number of sites across Cumbria. This is an interim opportunity expected to last at least six months, with the organisation open to considering a broad range of experience levels.

You could be an HR Officer or developing HR Advisor looking to build your advisory and ER experience, with salaries starting around £30,000, or an experienced HR Advisor with strong employee relations and case management expertise, where salaries can reach £40,000+ depending on experience.

Who we're looking for
  • We’re keen to hear from candidates at different stages of their HR career.
  • You may be looking to step up into a broader advisory position, or you could already be an established HR Advisor looking for your next interim challenge.

The Role

You’ll work closely with leaders, acting as a key HR contact and providing practical advice and support across a range of people matters, including:

  • Managing employee relations cases
  • Supporting absence management
  • Advising managers on HR policies and people-related matters
  • Working alongside trade unions on employee relations issues
  • Supporting recruitment activity
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Managing your own workload across multiple sites

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • HR advisory, employee relations or case management experience, even low level case work
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence dealing with managers and senior stakeholders
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Experience of working with trade unions would be particularly valuable (but not essential)
Candidates with relevant experience from Local Government or other unionised public sector environments are also encouraged to apply, however candidates with HR experience from the private sector will still be considered.

Additional Information:

The role offers a flexible approach to hybrid working and can be based anywhere across Cumbria.

If you’re based in Cumbria and are considering your next HR opportunity, whether you’re developing your advisory experience or already an experienced HR Advisor, I’d love to hear from you.
