The Opportunity
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing education organisation at a pivotal point in its journey. With significant expansion plans, multiple school integrations, large-scale people projects and a growing workforce, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of the HR function and wider organisation. The role has been created as a genuine deputy to the Head of HR, offering the opportunity to influence strategy whilst maintaining hands-on involvement in complex operational and transformation activity.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day operational delivery of HR services across a multi-site organisation.
• Act as a trusted adviser on complex employee relations, employee engagement and organisational change matters.
• Support significant growth activity including TUPE transfers, school integrations and workforce transformation projects.
• Oversee payroll, pensions, compliance and people operations.
• Drive continuous improvement across HR systems, processes and reporting.
• Develop meaningful people analytics and workforce insights to support decision making.
• Build strong relationships with senior leaders, Headteachers and key stakeholders across the organisation.
• Act as deputy to the Head of HR and provide leadership across the wider HR team
Ideal candidate
We're looking for an experienced HR leader who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You will bring:
• Strong operational and strategic HR experience.
• Significant employee relations expertise within a unionised environment.
• Experience leading change, consultation and organisational transformation activity.
• The confidence to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
• Education sector experience would be highly desirable, although we would also welcome applications from individuals with relevant experience gained within complex public sector environments.
