With a proud heritage, ambitious growth plans and a clear focus on future capability, our client is investing heavily in its people agenda and is now seeking an exceptional Head of Capability & Talent to build and lead a modern, integrated approach to talent, succession, learning, leadership and organisational development. This role will have a significant impact on the growth agenda and future business success.
Key Responsibilities;
You will be the architect of the organisation's talent and capability strategy, bringing together learning, performance, leadership development, succession planning, workforce planning and career pathways into a single, future-focused framework. Working closely with the People Director and Executive leadership team, you will have the opportunity to influence business strategy, challenge thinking and create the foundations that will enable the organisation to thrive for the next generation.
Key areas of focus will include:
- Developing a long-term organisational capability and skills strategy.
- Creating leadership and succession frameworks that support future growth.
- Designing career pathways and talent development programmes.
- Aligning performance, learning and workforce planning into one coherent approach.
- Enhancing capability frameworks and professional standards.
- Evaluating and modernising learning technologies and development tools.
- Influencing senior stakeholders and helping shape Board-level people decisions.
This is a role with significant visibility, autonomy and impact.
Based from Leeds with hybrid working.
What we’re looking for;
We'd love to hear from you if you are a talent development specialist with strong leadership skills and have built, shaped or transformed talent, learning, capability or organisational development agendas.
Most importantly, you'll bring demonstrable expertise in the following key areas:
- Experience developing talent, capability or succession strategies.
- The ability to connect multiple people development initiatives into a joined-up framework.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability.
- Commercial judgement and strategic thinking.
- Credibility with Executive and Board-level audiences.
- The confidence to challenge, innovate and drive change.
- Experience leveraging talent technology, workforce data and people analytics to drive capability, succession and organisational development decisions.
- Previous experience within professional services would be advantageous, although not essential.
