The opportunity;
As Interim Head of Talent, you will take ownership of the UK talent development strategy, ensuring business-critical activity continues seamlessly. You will lead an established team and work closely with senior stakeholders to maintain focus, delivery, and confidence during an interim period.
This is likely to be a 3-6 month contract with the opportunity to work flexibly.
Key Responsibilities;
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and support a well-established team of talent and L&D professionals, ensuring clear direction, focus and delivery against priorities.
Talent & Succession Strategy
- Drive forward succession planning and talent management frameworks, strengthening leadership pipelines and organisational resilience.
Leadership Development
- Refine and embed leadership competency frameworks aligned to organisational values and strategic goals, ensuring scalable and practical development solutions.
Early Careers
- Oversee graduate, apprenticeship and early careers programmes, ensuring alignment with future workforce planning and internal progression pathways.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Operate as a senior HR leader, partnering with the wider HR function and executive stakeholders to sustain momentum and engagement.
Based in the North East with some UK wide travel.
What We’re Looking For;
You will be an experienced senior talent / L&D leader, ideally with:
- A strong track record in leadership development and succession planning
- Experience managing established teams and driving delivery at pace
- The ability to influence and build credibility quickly with senior stakeholders
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach combined with strategic perspective
