A growing financial services business is seeking an experienced Head of PMO to establish and lead its Project Management Office during a significant period of transformation and growth.

This is a unique opportunity to build and embed a PMO capability from the ground up, shaping governance, reporting, portfolio oversight, and delivery standards across an enterprise-wide change portfolio. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring strategic change initiatives are delivered effectively, providing senior leadership with clear visibility, control, and assurance across programmes and projects

The Role

As Head of PMO, you will be responsible for creating and leading a high-performing PMO function, establishing best practices and delivery frameworks that support successful project execution across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, implementing and continuously improving the PMO operating model, including governance frameworks, tools, reporting standards and delivery methodologies. 
• Providing end-to-end oversight of the change portfolio, including project status, risks, dependencies, budgets and benefits realisation. 
• Developing executive-level dashboards, portfolio reporting and board-level management information. 
• Driving resource and capacity planning across change programmes and key business stakeholders. 
• Establishing governance processes, stage gates and escalation routes to ensure effective decision-making and delivery assurance. 
• Leading and developing the PMO capability, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration and delivery excellence

About You

We're looking for an experienced PMO leader who has successfully built, transformed or matured PMO functions within complex organisations.

You will have:

• Significant experience leading a PMO function within a complex change environment.
• A proven track record of establishing or improving PMO operating models and governance frameworks. 
• Strong portfolio management, reporting and stakeholder engagement experience.
• The ability to translate complex delivery information into clear executive insight. 
• Commercial awareness, including experience of benefits realisation, investment tracking and change funding. 
• Ideally, experience within financial services, wealth management, fintech, or another regulated environment.
