Head of Paraplanning

The Opportunity

An ambitious and growing Financial Planning business is seeking an experienced Head of Paraplanning to play a key role in the next phase of its development.

Having recently established an independent Financial Planning division within a wider professional services group, the business is investing heavily in growth and has plans to significantly expand its adviser population over the coming years. This creates an exciting opportunity for an experienced paraplanning professional to join at an early stage and help shape the future of the function.

Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for building a high-performing paraplanning team, developing robust processes and quality standards, and ensuring advisers receive the technical support needed to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.

This is far more than a traditional paraplanning role. It offers the opportunity to create, lead and develop a function that will be central to the firm's long-term success.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and developing the paraplanning function.
• Establishing processes, procedures and quality standards to support future growth.
• Overseeing the production and quality control of suitability reports and technical recommendations.
• Providing technical guidance and support to advisers and future paraplanners.
• Working closely with senior leadership to build a scalable operational structure.
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and development of future paraplanning team members.
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service delivery and client outcomes.
• Ensuring regulatory and compliance standards are consistently maintained.
• Acting as a technical specialist on complex client cases where required.
• Building strong working relationships across advisory, administration and paraplanning teams.

About You

To be successful in this role, you are likely to have:

• Previous experience within a senior paraplanning or paraplanning leadership position.
• Experience developing or managing a paraplanning team.
• Strong technical financial planning knowledge across pensions, investments, protection and retirement planning.
• A thorough understanding of FCA regulatory requirements and suitability standards.
• The ability to build effective processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A proactive and autonomous approach with the confidence to lead from the front.
• A genuine passion for developing people and maintaining high quality standards.

Candidates holding a Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning will be highly regarded.
