Group Accounting Manager

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified accountant to step into a high-profile Group Accounting Manager role within a well-established, fast-paced organisation. This is a broad and varied position offering considerably more than traditional month-end reporting, combining technical accounting, team leadership, business partnering and continuous improvement.

You’ll take ownership of monthly reporting across central business functions, manage and develop a small finance team and play an important role in improving the quality, consistency and efficiency of financial information across the organisation.

Alongside the core reporting responsibilities, you’ll gain exposure to wider projects, year-end activity, audit delivery and ongoing improvements to management information and financial processes. It’s an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who enjoys getting beneath the numbers, improving how things are done and communicating financial information effectively across a business.

The Role

• Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts for central functions
• Review monthly performance analysis and reporting
• Take ownership of accounting period controls and financial processes
• Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Drive consistency across accounting practices and cost allocation
• Manage and support a team of two accountants / finance assistants
• Lead and support both recurring and ad hoc projects and analysis
• Support the delivery of a clean audit
• Assist with the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and tax computations
• Continuously improve management information and reporting processes to create efficiencies and support better decision-making

The Person

You will be an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with at least two years' industry experience. A background within FMCG or manufacturing would be desirable, particularly within an international environment.

You will also bring:

• The ability to analyse and summarise complex financial information
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality outputs
• Strong organisation and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• The ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues
• A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively across the wider business
• Advanced spreadsheet skills, with knowledge of SAP considered beneficial
