Financial Controller

The Business

Nigel Wright have been exclusively appointed to support an established manufacturing organisation who are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead its finance remit and provide the commercial insight.

This is a broad, hands-on opportunity for someone who wants to play an active role in the business. Working closely with senior leadership and colleagues across the organisation.

The Role

You will lead a broad finance remit, with responsibility for:

• Producing, interpreting and communicating management accounts
• Leading budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis
• Strengthening financial controls and reporting
• Improving visibility of costs, margins, stock, work in progress and labour performance
• Providing commercially focused insight
• Supporting VAT, audit and wider financial accounting requirements
• Developing reporting, data and finance processes
• Contributing to a finance systems transition
• Managing and supporting the finance team
• You will build strong relationships beyond finance, working closely with operational and commercial colleagues to understand performance and support decisions.

Background

You may already be a Financial Controller or an experienced senior finance professional ready to take ownership of a complete finance function.

You will bring:
Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience
Practical expertise in cost, margin and performance analysis
Broad financial control experience
Advanced, hands-on Excel capability
A curious, commercially minded and pragmatic approach
The ability to communicate complex information clearly
