The Opportunity

Financial Accountant - Ideal first move from practice to industry. 

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Group Financial Accountant to join a dynamic and growing finance function. This role is ideal for a first move from practice into industry, offering strong exposure to group reporting, technical accounting, and senior stakeholders.

You’ll play a key part in delivering accurate and timely group reporting, supporting statutory requirements, and driving continuous improvement across financial processes, while gaining valuable commercial experience in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate and timely monthly group consolidation and reporting
• Support the production of annual statutory accounts under relevant accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP)
• Assist with the year-end audit process, acting as a key contact for external auditors
• Provide technical accounting guidance across the group
• Maintain and improve group accounting policies and procedures
• Support the preparation of board and management reporting
• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control
• Assist with financial controls, governance, and compliance activities
• Collaborate with finance teams across the business to ensure consistent reporting
• Support ad hoc projects, including system implementations and process transformation initiatives

The Person

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
• Currently working in practice (audit/accounting) and looking to make your first move into industry, or already in industry with relevant experience
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting standards (IFRS preferred)
• Experience working with group structures or complex clients is advantageous
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with consolidation systems is beneficial
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
• Proactive and driven, with a continuous improvement mindset
