Finance Manager

Newcastle upon Tyne  Permanent  £55,000-60,000 Ref: 420054

Finance Manager

Finance Manager - Permanent Role - Hybrid Working - Opportunity for Transformation & Change
A hands-on finance role with genuine scope to shape reporting, strengthen controls and improve the way finance works.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys combining strong operational finance with business partnering, systems improvement and meaningful commercial insight. Joining at a point of change, you’ll have the opportunity to make a visible impact rather than simply inherit an established routine.

The Role

Working closely with senior finance leadership, you’ll take ownership across management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and balance-sheet control, while partnering with stakeholders to turn financial information into better decisions.

There is also a strong improvement agenda. You’ll play an important role in developing finance processes, strengthening reporting and controls, improving cash-flow forecasting and financial modelling, and making better use of the existing ERP.
Key priorities will include:

  • Producing and reviewing accurate management accounts, forecasts and budgets
  • Delivering insightful variance analysis and providing constructive challenge to budget holders
  • Supporting statutory accounts preparation and audit requirements
  • Improving cash-flow forecasting and financial modelling
  • Maintaining robust balance-sheet and control-account reconciliations
  • Supporting VAT and wider financial compliance requirements
  • Developing reporting, controls and functionality within the ERP system
  • Identifying practical opportunities to improve finance processes, data and operational efficiency
  • Supporting and developing less-experienced finance colleagues

About You

  • You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong grounding in operational finance and the confidence to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders.
  • You’ll bring solid experience of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and balance-sheet reconciliations, alongside advanced Excel capability.
  • Experience within large ERPs, systems development, cash-flow forecasting, VAT or finance transformation would be particularly valuable.
  • Just as importantly, you’ll be proactive, adaptable and comfortable challenging constructively while remaining collaborative.

Interested?

If you’re looking for a Finance Manager opportunity where you can combine technical accounting with business partnering and tangible finance improvement, we’d be keen to hear from you.
