The Business

Nigel Wright have been appointed to support a manufacturing business based in North Tyneside with the recruitment of a Finance Business Partner.

This is an opportunity for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to take ownership of financial performance and become a trusted adviser to senior operational and commercial stakeholders.

The role combines robust financial control with forward-looking business partnering. You will provide the insight, challenge and recommendations that help leaders make well-informed decisions. Alongside delivering accurate reporting, you will have the scope to improve processes, enhance controls and develop the capability of colleagues within the finance team.

The Role

Lead the production and review of management accounts, forecasts and budgets
Take ownership of profit and loss reporting, balance-sheet reconciliations and financial integrity
Analyse performance against budgets and forecasts, clearly explaining movements, risks and opportunities
Monitor project margins, investigate variances and recommend corrective action
Lead financial review discussions with key stakeholders
Provide commercially focused analysis to support profitability, cash flow and cost control
Oversee year-end activities, statutory reporting requirements and audit support
Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls and reporting
Build effective relationships across finance, operations and commercial functions
Coach and develop finance colleagues
Present financial information confidently to senior leadership when required

Background

You will be a qualified accountant, ideally ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, with significant post-qualification experience. You will bring strong technical and management accounting knowledge, together with experience of budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and project accounting.
Just as importantly, you will be able to translate complex financial information into clear commercial recommendations. Advanced Excel capability.
