Design Engineer

Our client is an established and rapidly growing engineering business in the North East, supporting global engineering projects.

With increasing demand for their specialist products and services, the organisation is expanding its engineering team to support project delivery and maintain high standards of design quality and innovation.

The opportunity

As a Design Engineer, you will contribute to the development and delivery of innovative engineering solutions, supporting projects from concept through to manufacture.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing 3D models and detailed engineering drawings
• Supporting concept design and product development activities
• Carrying out engineering calculations and analysis (including FEA where required)
• Working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility
• Participating in testing, validation and continuous improvement of products
• Supporting project delivery by assisting with design reviews and documentation

About you

You are a motivated and technically capable design engineer looking to develop your career in a fast-paced and growing business.

You will have:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
• Experience in mechanical/product design within an engineering environment
• Strong understanding of core engineering principles
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD 
• Exposure to engineering calculations and analysis methods (FEA desirable)
• Experience working with metals and/or polymers
• A collaborative approach and willingness to learn
• Ability to manage workload and contribute to project delivery
