Customer Service Assistant
The Role

We are looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join a friendly and supportive team in Birtley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with customer service, administration, retail, or sales experience who is looking to develop their career within a successful and growing business.
The Role
As the first point of contact for customers, you'll play a key role in delivering an outstanding customer experience. You'll handle enquiries via phone, email and webchat, provide product information, process orders, and work closely with colleagues across the business to resolve customer queries efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing customer enquiries, orders and complaints via telephone, email and webchat.
- Processing customer orders accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Providing quotations, pricing information and product guidance.
- Supporting aftersales activities including warranty claims, damages and invoice queries.
- Liaising with internal departments including Sales, Logistics, Warehouse and Finance.
- Delivering product and technical support to customers.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance the customer experience.
- Ensuring all customer interactions are handled professionally and in line with company procedures.
The Person
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys helping people and thrives in a busy customer-focused environment. You'll have:
- Previous experience in customer service, administration, retail, sales or a similar customer-facing role.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A positive, proactive and team-oriented approach.
- A genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Desirable Experience
- Experience within a B2B customer service environment.
- Experience processing orders, quotations or returns.
- Knowledge of CRM or ERP systems.
- Experience working across multiple departments to resolve customer issues.
