Sales Ledger / Credit Controller | Full-time, Permanent | Gateshead
A well-established, North East business operating within the services sector is looking to recruit a Sales Ledger / Credit Controller to join a growing SME with a strong reputation, offering long-term stability and a supportive environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the effective management of the Sales Ledger and Credit Control within a small finance team. This is a standalone role requiring a proactive and organised individual who can manage a high-volume workload accurately.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing the full sales ledger across a varied customer base
- Posting and allocation of incoming payments
- Proactive credit control, including chasing outstanding debt and managing debtor balances
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records across the ledger
- Investigating and resolving account queries in collaboration with internal departments
- Leading monthly debtor review meetings with senior stakeholders
- Supporting the wider finance team, including occasional purchase ledger cover
The Person
About You
- Experience in Sales Ledger or Credit Control
- Confident managing your own workload and working independently
- Strong attention to detail in fast-paced, transactional environments
- Comfortable communicating across teams and with senior stakeholders
- Proactive, hands-on, and solutions-focused
