Their engineering function is at the heart of the business, offering a collaborative, hands-on environment where engineers are given real ownership of projects from concept through to commissioning.
This is an opportunity to join a business where engineering truly drives success — combining technical challenge, global reach, and long-term career stability.
The opportunity
Due to ongoing growth, our client is looking to appoint a Controls Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.
This role offers a unique blend of design, development and real-world application, supporting the delivery of complex engineered products used in demanding environments.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Designing and developing electrical and control systems from concept through to production
- Developing, programming and testing PLC-based control systems
- Supporting product integration, commissioning, and field trials
- Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, projects and commercial functions
- Engaging with customers to support system integration, training and technical discussions
- Contributing to both R&D innovation projects and the transition of products into full production
This position offers strong long-term development, with exposure to advanced engineering challenges and the chance to work on highly impactful, real-world applications.
About you
We are looking for an ambitious and capable engineer with a strong foundation in control systems and a passion for product development.
You will ideally have:

- Previous experience in a product design environment (not purely manufacturing/commissioning)
- Strong understanding of electrical and electronic system design
- Exposure to PLC programming and control systems (desirable)
- Experience in areas such as robotics, automation, or complex machinery (beneficial)
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong communication skills, with confidence to engage in customer-facing situations
This is a rare opportunity to join a growing and highly respected engineering organisation, working on technically challenging and meaningful projects.
