Business Development Manager

The Opportunity:

We are supporting a well-established and profitable UK business as it enters a new phase of growth, driven by investment in its software and solutions offering.
With a strong existing customer base and a long-standing reputation in its market, the organisation is now evolving its commercial approach to increase adoption of its technology-led solutions. This is creating significant opportunity to drive additional revenue across both existing clients and new prospects.
As part of this growth, the business is looking to appoint Business Development Managers who can help build pipeline, convert opportunities, and play a key role in developing a more mature and scalable sales function.
This is an opportunity to join a business with solid foundations, clear investment, and genuine momentum.

Role Profile:

This is a full-cycle Business Development position, responsible for driving revenue through a mix of account development and new business activity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the full sales process from initial engagement through to close
  • Building and developing a pipeline across existing clients and new opportunities
  • Identifying and converting cross-sell opportunities within an established customer base
  • Delivering tailored demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients
  • Engaging with senior stakeholders across finance, operations and IT
  • Understanding customer challenges and positioning appropriate solutions
  • Working closely with marketing to maximise lead generation activity
  • Maintaining accurate pipeline reporting and forecasting
  • Achieving and exceeding revenue targets

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in a Business Development or B2B sales role
  • Track record of managing the full sales cycle and closing deals
  • Experience selling software, SaaS or technology-enabled solutions preferred
  • Ability to engage and influence senior decision-makers
  • Commercially minded with a consultative sales approach
  • Self-sufficient, proactive and comfortable managing your own pipeline
  • Motivated by targets and operating in a growth environment
