Business Controller

The Opportunity

An established international manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Business Controller into its UK finance team on a maternity cover basis. This is a broad, hands-on role with strong visibility across operations, offering the opportunity to influence performance, support decision-making and work closely with key stakeholders in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Your Duties/Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Prepare management accounts, variance analysis and commentary
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles
• Analyse performance across cost base, margins and KPIs
• Business partner with operational teams to drive insight and improvements
• Maintain balance sheet integrity and oversee reconciliations
• Support cost control and working capital initiatives
• Contribute to ongoing process and reporting improvements

You Will Be/Have:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Strong management accounting and reporting experience
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and KPI analysis
• Confident working in a fast-paced, operational environment
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Hands-on and detail-oriented, with a proactive mindset
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or similar environments is advantageous

Benefits:

• Salary: £55,000 – £65,000
