Nigel Wright Group Realigns International Structure and Strengthens Leadership Across DACH & Benelux

Nigel Wright Group, a global executive search and interim management firm specialising in the consumer industry, has announced a strategic realignment of its international structure to support continued growth across existing and new markets.

As part of this development, Steffen Gemmel has been appointed Director DACH & Benelux, assuming full responsibility for both regions. At the same time, Alexander Schweizer transitions into a new role fully focused on building and scaling the Group’s US business.

Strengthening Regional Leadership

Steffen Gemmel brings more than 15 years of experience in the executive search and recruitment industry, having held various international leadership roles and led complex cross‑border projects. Over recent years, he has successfully built the Interim Management business of the Nigel Wright Group, developing it into a core pillar of the firm’s overall offering.

Since joining the Group, Gemmel has grown the DACH interim business from the ground up into a €9 million turnover operation. In his expanded role, he will also take responsibility for the Search business across DACH and Benelux. Working closely with the regional and group leadership teams, his focus will be on accelerating growth and further strengthening the firm’s market position.

“For me, this marks the beginning of a new chapter which I approach with great gratitude and motivation. During my time at Nigel Wright Group, I have actively helped shape markets and developed a clear understanding of people and potential. I look forward to taking the next steps together with our team,” says Steffen Gemmel.

Alexander Schweizer to Drive US Expansion

After eleven years leading the DACH and Benelux organisation, Alexander Schweizer has fully shifted his focus to the strategic development of the Nigel Wright Group’s North American business. He plans to relocate to the US in august.

Schweizer has been instrumental in building what is today the Group’s strongest consumer business. Under his leadership, the business has grown NFI by 57% over the past five years, consistently gaining market share from competitors. This performance reflects his long‑term vision, strong leadership, and ability to build highly effective, scalable teams.

“I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together as a team over the past years. Commitment, passion, and strong collaboration have been key to our success. I am very much looking forward to this new challenge in North America. With Steffen, we have an outstanding internal successor whom I trust completely to not only continue, but further develop the path we have taken,” says Alexander Schweizer.

Continuity and Future Focus

The leadership transition is also strongly endorsed at Group level. Lars Herrem, Group Executive Director of the Nigel Wright Group, comments:

“Alexander has played a central role in shaping our growth and in building our largest business area. Bringing his experience to the US is a key step in scaling our international presence. At the same time, Steffen has demonstrated outstanding leadership and has been instrumental in developing our interim business. With him taking responsibility for DACH and Benelux, we are entering the next phase of our company’s development with great confidence.”

With this realignment, Nigel Wright Group continues to invest in leadership continuity while laying the foundation for sustained international expansion and the ongoing development of its core markets.
