POSITION OVERVIEW (Summary of Main Duties)

A leading multinational organization operates one of its most significant and strategically important digital accounts within Europe, representing substantial revenue, profitability, and brand visibility across the region. The Pan-European Amazon Manager holds full accountability for the 360° commercial relationship with a major online marketplace across Europe. This role owns the Amazon P&L and is responsible for delivering sustainable, profitable growth through strong commercial leadership, disciplined execution, and cross-functional collaboration. Acting as the organization’s Amazon leader in Europe, this role builds and manages long-term strategic partnerships with Amazon Retail, Advertising, and Support functions (e.g., Operations, Finance, Compliance), while guiding a cross-functional team to execute short-, mid-, and long-term commercial strategies. This position combines leadership, operational excellence, negotiation expertise, and data-driven decision-making to maximize performance across all aspects of the Amazon business. You will report into the Digital Shopper Associate Director.

POSITION PROFILE

1. Full P&L Ownership & Commercial Leadership

  • Own and deliver the Pan-European Amazon P&L, including revenue, profitability, and gross margin.
  • Establish and execute short-, mid-, and long-term commercial growth strategies (as part of that participate and co-lead the yearly vendor negotiation).
  • Drive performance across financial, operational, marketing, and brand KPIs.
  • Monitor and analyze account performance using relevant data systems, market intelligence tools, and financial metrics.
  • Ensure disciplined forecasting, budget planning, and performance tracking.
2. Strategic Relationship Management
  • Own and coordinate the full 360° relationship with the external marketplace across Retail, Advertising, and support functions.
  • Build strong connections with cross-functional marketplace stakeholders at international and regional levels.
  • Lead and manage Joint Business Planning, Quarterly Business Reviews, and annual negotiations.
  • Anticipate marketplace priorities and proactively position the organization for long-term partnership success.
3. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment
  • Train, lead, and continuously develop team members to execute commercial and marketing strategies.
  • Foster strong collaboration with internal Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Operations, IT, Compliance, and Legal teams.
  • Align closely with internal centres of excellence to leverage best practices and tools.
  • Act as a cross-functional leader within broader commercial teams.
4. Commercial Strategy, Assortment & Merchandising
  • Lead development and execution of marketplace-specific strategies across assortment, pricing, promotion, and merchandising.
  • Determine optimal assortment architecture and seasonal programs to maximize ROI.
  • Develop and execute tactics for major promotional events.
  • Apply data-driven insights, predictive modelling, and experimentation to enhance performance.
  • Ensure high-quality digital content, strong ratings and reviews, and best-in-class merchandising standards.
5. Forecasting, Promotions & Pricing
  • Oversee promotional calendar planning and execution.
  • Drive disciplined pricing and promotional strategies aligned with financial targets.
  • Conduct competitor monitoring and market analysis to inform decisions.
  • Partner with internal teams to forecast demand and identify growth opportunities.
6. Supply Chain & Operational Excellence
  • Own Pan-European marketplace supply chain programs, including direct import and fulfillment models.
  • Monitor operational performance and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve delivery challenges and financial penalties.
  • Ensure alignment with operations teams to optimize product availability and mitigate risks.
7. Budgeting, Financial Management & Governance
  • Manage account budgets and trade investments at a multi-million level.
  • Support invoice management and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Deliver disciplined financial planning and forecasting processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, E-Commerce, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Extensive professional experience in e-commerce and digital commerce environments
  • Significant marketplace account management experience with regional or international scope
  • Proven P&L ownership experience at a substantial revenue scale
  • Experience managing multi-million-level budgets
  • People management experience with cross-functional leadership exposure
  • Strong negotiation and coordination capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, additional European language is a plus (with preference to German or French)

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience working within a global, matrix organization
  • Proven track record of collaboration across functions and geographies, especially in BeNeLux and, or DACH regions.
