Technoeconomic Analyst

The Techno-economic Analyst will expand, maintain and operate Leilac’s technoeconomic platform to support vital business development and innovation activities. This could for example include producing estimates of cost of CO2 avoidance for different manifestations of Leilac Technology. The Techno-economic Analyst will work closely with the R&D and engineering teams, providing a range of technoeconomic models suitable for early-stage feasibility studies up to later-stage innovation and commercial projects. 

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Use the platform to support vital business development and innovation activities.
  • Provide a range of techno-economic models to R&D, engineering, and business development teams suitable for early-stage feasibility studies up to later-stage innovation and commercial projects.
  • Keep external information sources up to date, clear and accessible.
  • Work with the R&D and engineering teams to maintain and integrate internal information sources, such as plant performance and cost estimate.
  • Provide outputs in a range of formats, with a focus on clear messaging to a range of internal and external stakeholders including commercial clients.
  • Develop life-cycle assessments of the Leilac process to complement the technoeconomic analyses.

Desired Qualifications and skills

  • A degree within relevant Engineering or Technical discipline.
  • 2+ years’ proven experience developing, maintaining, and using complex technoeconomic models.
  • Experience and understanding of process modelling.
  • Experience and understanding of life cycle assessments.
  • Proven ability to design, write and operate code in VBA, MATLAB, Python or other participation in first-of-a-kind, or highly developmental projects.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and undertake delegated work outside of main responsibilities.
